In InDesign CS4, Adobe changed the way the text looks in panel titles. Every panel title now appears in all capital letters. This has made some users upset because the panels are harder to read, and the titles take up more screen real estate. Not to mention the fact that I feel like InDesign is yelling at me now!
All panel titles now appear in all capital letters in Adobe InDesign CS4.
In prior releases of InDesign, the panel titles were always displayed in title case.
This is how the panels were displayed in InDesign CS3.
To make InDesign CS4 display all your panels in title case once again, all you need to do is follow these simple steps:
1. Navigate to your Application folder on a Macintosh and open up the InDesign CS4 folder, or your Program Files > Adobe > Adobe InDesign CS4 in Windows.
2. Make a folder called "noallcaps" inside the InDesign application folder. Don't use the parentheses and make sure to use all lowercase letters.
Make a folder called "noallcaps" so InDesign will show the title name in title case.
3. Restart InDesign.
Now when you restart InDesign, your panels will be easier to read because you will be able to see more of the name in the panel tab.
Now all of your titles will show up in title case!
