Workflow Management - JoongAng-Ilbo (South Korean English Newspaper)

Workflow Management

JoongAng-Ilbo, the premier newspaper for South Korea, decided to partner with the International Herald Tribune to distribute the daily broadsheet in an English version.

The Publisher's exceptional technology supplier, Elex Computers, was faced with a crisis in that it lacked the internal expertise to build an editorial content management system. What's more, Elex was given a two-month deadline to have the system up and running.

Elex conducted an international search for the right technology partner by sending out an RFP and interviewing companies throughout the world. After extensive research and interviews, DPCI was selected to perform the project in conjunction with Elex staff.

Within the required deadline, DPCI implemented the new system, trained both Elex and JoongAng-Ilbo staff in its use, and supported the roll out, both on site and remotely. What's more, DPCI analyzed the current JI workflow and suggested major improvements in interdepartmental collaboration as well as in content reuse from the Korean daily and to the English Website.

In the words of NamWook Kim, President of Elex: "DPCI consulted the project, taught us the subtle points related to QPS, dispatched capable staff to Korea, pointed out problems with workflow and procedures, solved errors, and provided brilliant ideas to improve cooperation between copyeditors, translators, and designers. The completion of this project would never have been seen without the help of DPCI."

DPCI: Reliable partner - any time, any where.
