The Event: 2004 Seminar #1: XML in Publishing Workflow

When: Apr 1, 2004 - 2:00pm-5:00pm

Where: Manhattan Theatre Source,
177 MacDougal Street New York, NY
(Take the A, B, C, E, or F Train to West 4th Street Station. From 6th Avenue walk one block east on West 8th. Turn right onto Macdougal. Theater is on your right)

Who: Senior managers and directors with responsibility for technology, production, content or publishing; and anyone else involved in the integration of QuarkXPress with XML.

Why: Because the integration of QuarkXPress print content into an XML workflow is important to you or because you want to find out if it should be.

Overview: Efficient publishing of content to multiple media is a key goal for every company involved in content creation, from magazine and book publishers to financial institutions and government departments. XML has steadily become the format of choice for achieving this goal.

One aspect of implementing an XML workflow that continues to challenge publishers is how to integrate print publishing, primarily with QuarkXPress, into such an XML workflow.

This seminar aims to address such issues as why you should integrate QuarkXPress into an XML workflow, what makes it difficult, and the key issues, options and decisions you'll face along the way. You'll have the opportunity to see the workflows that other companies have implemented in this area as well as a demonstration of a print to XML workflow and an XML to print workflow using QuarkXPress and additional software tools.

A wine and cheese hour will follow the presentation.
