Wiki

This is a glossary of Wiki Terms.

Taxonomy - A hierarchical set of controlled vocabulary terms. In content management, words or phrases within a taxonomy are used to apply meaning to pieces of content (or intellectual property) as well as to help classify content into categories of meaning.

Test Protocol (Also called Test Script) - A written checklist of functional points to test whether an application and its components are working properly. Once written, a test protocol is used throughout a project, often being enhanced as more is learned about the behavior of the new system or as new components and modules are added.

Text mining - A science and technology for deriving deeper meaning from text strings other than just pulling keywords or keyphrases. Text mining, or data mining, is concerned with pulling out deeper meaning in unstructured text -- meaning such as facts and author's intent.

Increasingly, publishers are integrating text mining engines with content repositories so as to enrich the searchability and ease of semantic mashups by deriving greater meaning from article content.
